Through each of our Neighbors at Work programs, we assist at-risk youth and young adults in obtaining and maintaining employment. Our desire is to help them reach self-sufficiency through employment training and life skills development.
General Workforce Program

General Workforce serves individuals with a focus on increasing household income and skills development. Services span from in-depth, wrap-around support and guidance to those who need light preparation to obtain employment.
SNAP Workforce Program

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Career Advancement Network (also known as SNAP CAN) is a voluntary program for participants 16 years and older at no cost when receiving Nutrition Assistance benefits that help participants gain skills and enter or move up in the workforce. SNAP CAN may help remove barriers to participating in the program or gaining employment through services including job readiness, job search, job placement, and supportive services.
SNAP CAN is federally funded with $250,000 (50%). Additionally, 50% ($250,000) is financed by non-federal sources.
El Mercado Thrift Store
AREA OF IMPACT: Neighbors-At-Work
The El Mercado Thrift Store is a great place to shop for one-of-a-kind treasures. Our on-site store sells new and used clothes, shoes, electronics, kitchen utensils, furniture, and other home goods.
Not only does the thrift store provide job training for Neighborhood Ministries, but it also provides much-needed items for families in the community. Parents of youth in our programs volunteer each week, earning credit to purchase items at the thrift store.

Level Up Workforce Program
AREA OF IMPACT: Neighbors-At-Work
Funded by the Department of Labor – WIOA Title I-B program and Arizona@Work City of Phoenix youth provider, a partner of the American Job Center Network, Level Up workforce programs serve youth ages 16-24. Level Up workforce program supports individuals in overcoming barriers as they achieve education and career goals. Youths enrolled in the program work with a case manager to determine an individual with unique goals within target sector career pathways.
Many opportunities are offered through the Level Up Workforce Program including motivating coaching, occupational training, paid work experiences, and assistance with tuition, books, supplies, and other supportive services.
Level Up is a WIOA Title I-B Program, 100 percent funded by the U.S. Department of Labor through awards totaling $741,000.
Healing Journeys
AREA OF IMPACT: Neighbors-At-Work
The Healing Journeys for Women program assists women in dealing with emotional and social development. This is part of our “Neighbors at Work” program, which walks along all job seekers and guides them through the steps of employment. Women experience breakthroughs in their emotional health through a safe and loving community.
