Making a Difference

Our Response:

Long-term, holistic care

For those trapped in the cycle of poverty, it takes a lifetime and generational commitment to families for change to take place and opportunity to birth itself. We are now serving 3rd generations of families in the community, making a positive difference each new generation. NM is proud to make this commitment to the community.

Our Response:

Moms’ Place

Paulette was 17 when she had her first of two children. [At Moms’ Place] I learned how to be a better mother and how to keep my kids safe. [Moms’ Place] taught me how to communicate with my children and put them on the right path… They were there when I needed someone.

Our Response:

Education For Life

We support our youth every step of the way, providing mentors, tutoring, and even scholarship assistance. Damaris says if it hadn’t been for Neighborhood Ministries, she would not have had the hope of graduating high school, let alone go to college. “NM was there for me and my family whenever we needed anything, help financially, food, clothes, whatever. NM was always there, keeping me busy and off the streets.” Damaris, with the help of the Wayne and Kit Danley Scholarship, will be attending Phoenix College to get her Education degree to become a teacher.

Our Response:

Neighbors At Work

We place individuals in jobs and set them on a path to self-sufficiency. Michael has been in his job for more than 6 months. “Neighbors At Work helped me through the hiring process and helped me stay positive.” Regarding his job, he says, “I am satisfied. I like it.”
